Announcement: Jim Williams – Retirement

Jim Williams has directed the NIPSA organization aptly for 12 years.  As a result of his skilled leadership, he has honed the accreditation process, made multiple co-accreditation agreements with other organizations that benefit our schools, and has doggedly represented the interests of our members at NCPSA.  He has traveled multiple miles, attended a myriad of meetings, and kept a watchful eye on legislative issues that could affect our institutions.  He has kept us organized, up-to-date and on track.

Jim will be retiring from NIPSA at the end of March; we knew this day was coming, and he had given us ample notice, but we are still sad to see him go.  His excellent service has touched us all, and we will continue to be grateful for all he has done.

We know that no one else could ever be a Jim Williams, but we are very pleased to announce that we have found our new Executive Director, and are confident that she is quite capable to lead our organization.  Teri Logan comes to us with 30 years of educational experience from K-12 to the university level. Various educational positions she has held include Teacher, College Guidance Counselor, Advancement Administrator, Associate Head of School, and Adjunct and Visiting Professor. She also holds a law degree and her experience in that field adds an extra layer of ability to the position.  She currently serves as the Vice President of the Florida Association of Academic Non-Public Schools (FAANS), so is able to keep current with the legislative issues affecting many of our schools. She has served as an educational consultant for the Master’s in Educational Leadership Program at the University of Miami, for the K-12 Human Hazard Educational Program at Florida International University, and the Baccalaureate in Education Program at Miami Dade College.  She has served on a number of boards and has been involved in the community receiving a few Certificates of Special Congressional Recognition and a Presidential Service Life time Achievement Award for over 10,000 hours of volunteer service.

Teri is already working with Jim in the National Office.  Teri’s office and residence are in the Ft. Lauderdale area.  She is getting involved with NIPSA already and was introduced to the board at the Board Meeting in New Orleans earlier this month.  As she is working with Jim, you will be receiving correspondence from her as well, and you will receive a formal introduction with more background as she will begin as Executive Directoron April 1st.  She is excited to work with NIPSA and is grateful for Jim’s offer of continued assistance as she needs it as she takes the helm of this exciting organization.
